According to this article, the CW Boss would like to continue airing ‘Supernatural’ as long as Jensen and Jared are okay with it… I wonder how many more seasons would that be…
The tenth season of “Supernatural” is getting set to come to a conclusion, but let’s be real here: Once you get to this point, everyone starts to assume that you are going to want to pack it in and do something different. Luckily, that has not been the case here, since Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles seem to enjoy playing Sam and Dean, hitting up conventions, and being a part of what is the longest-running genre show of its kind in history.
We do wonder if the guys are happier than ever with the show right now because of subtle, but important, changes. Hiring Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard as regulars has offered them up this season at least a little more time, rather than having to anchor ever scene of the show as they’ve done for some time. Also, we imagine that the crew is a well-oiled machine at this point, and they can get a lot of work done in a small amount of time.
Based on what Mark Pedowitz, otherwise known as the head of The CW’s programming, said at upfronts today, he wants to keep doing the show “as long as the ratings hold and the boys want to do it, we’re in.” He also claims to be a “big fan” and has seen every single episode.
Also worth noting here is that the network is still interested in doing some sort of spin-off show to keep the legacy alive. They previously attempted one with “Bloodlines,” only for it to fall apart quickly due to the story being not entirely interesting. This is a show that will have a rough time with this, given that so much of its DNA lies with its leading men and their chemistry.
